Have you noticed the gold fire hydrants popping up around Edgewater?

Recently someone painted some of the fire hydrants gold.

The Wheat Ridge Fire Protection District does not know who painted them, yet they can become a public safety issue. The last thing firefighters are looking for at a call in the middle of the night is for a GOLD fire hydrant.

Another issue, according to firefighters, is that when painted incorrectly, it makes it hard for firefighters to unscrew the cap in an emergency.
