UPDATE: Christ Street Fellowship now meets on Sundays at 10 am at the Arvada Seventh Day Adventist campus at 7090 W. 64th Ave in Arvada.

From a Christ Street Fellowship Press Release:

A new church plant held their grand opening on February 15 at Jefferson High School here in Edgewater. We are a team of 80 church planters from around the Denver area that have been working for months preparing to launch Christ Street Fellowship. We welcomed over 220 adults who attended the first service. The church will be holding services each Sunday at 10 am in Jefferson High’s auditorium.

“We knew that God was directing us to plant a church in the Denver area”, said Pastor Gary Beasley, “but we weren’t sure exactly where it was supposed to be. I know some churches choose an area after doing extensive demographic studies of the number of existing churches in an area and the percentage of the population there who attend an existing church there, but we felt led to do it a little differently. After having spent months driving around and praying over different parts of the area, one of our team members who lives in Edgewater took her own initiative and approached some of the leadership of Jefferson High School about using their facilities. They were very receptive and encouraging, our leadership toured the facility and the neighborhood and felt that this was the community we were supposed to serve.”

We chose the name of our church because it sums up our mission. Christ because we take seriously following Jesus Christ; Street because we want to live out our faith on the streets where we live; and Fellowship because we are dedicated to creating a loving and authentic fellowship. We have just had our first Service but already have in place a youth group, children’s Sunday school and Celebrate Recovery program. We are hoping to have many more helpful programs for the community available in the months and years to come.
