Edgewater Police Report from Chief Hough:
Sometime between 11:00 PM on April 8, 2015 and 4:00 PM on April 9, 2015 a 1994 white Nissan Altima was stolen from an apartment parking lot in the 2600 block of Kendall Street. This is the second vehicle stolen from the same area in one week.
On April 9, 2015, at about 8:45 PM, officers responded to a residence in the 2400 block of Otis Street regarding a physical disturbance. Upon the officers’ arrival, they determined that a mother and daughter became involved in a physical altercation that began in downtown Denver and continued to the residence on Otis Street. The daughter refused medical treatment; the mother was transported to a local hospital for facial injuries. Both mother and daughter declined to seek prosecution of each other. The investigation was closed as mutual combat.
At the same time on April 9, 2015, at about 9:00 PM, officers from the Lakeside Police Department and later officers from the Edgewater Police Department responded to a domestic dispute at an apartment unit in the 2600 block of Kendall Street. The officers’ investigation revealed that the female suspect, a 43-year-old resident of Golden, became engaged in a verbal argument with the male victim during a child custody exchange. The male victim attempted to separate himself from the female suspect; however, the female suspect forced open his locked apartment door and the dispute escalated to a physical confrontation. The female suspect was not at the residence when the officers arrived and refused to return to the residence to discuss the incident. The officers could not locate her at the time of the incident. The female suspect, when located, may face charges including burglary, felony menacing, child abuse, 3rd degree assault, criminal mischief and harassment. The investigation is continuing and an arrest warrant will likely be issued for the female.
Sometime between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM on April 12, 2015 a 2013 Subaru Impreza was stolen from a detached garage behind a residence in the 2100 block of Benton Street.
