Edgewater Police Report: June 29, 2015

Edgewater Police Report from Chief John Hough:

On June 21, 2015, at about 1:30 AM, an officer working a state grant funded DUI enforcement assignment noticed a vehicle weaving in the 2400 block of Sheridan Boulevard. When the officer stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver, a 24-year-old male resident of Denver, he was arrested and issued a Jefferson County Court summons for failing to operate his vehicle in a single lane of traffic (weaving), operating his vehicle without a driver’s license, failing to properly restrain a child in a child restraint system, DUI and child abuse. The child abuse charge arose from the suspect’s failure to properly restrain his two-year-old child in a child restraint system and DUI.

On June 21, 2015, at about 2:00 AM, an officer on routine patrol noticed a vehicle speeding in the 6000 block of W. 20th Avenue. When the officer stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver, a 32-year-old male resident of Denver, he was arrested and issued a Jefferson County Court summons for speeding, operating his vehicle while his license was denied and DUI. The suspect was transported to a local detox facility due to his level of intoxication.

Sometime between 6:00 PM on June 22, 2015 and 4:00 AM on June 23, 2015 a 1996 green Jeep Cherokee was stolen from a parking lot in the 2200 block of Depew Street.
