On August 11, 2015, at about 10:00 PM, an officer responded to Citizen’s Park in the 5400 block of W. 22nd Avenue regarding an altercation that occurred during a softball game. The officer’s investigation revealed that members of the two softball teams had been involved in several verbal confrontations throughout the game that culminated a member of one team hitting a member of the other team on the back of his head with an open hand. The suspect fled the area before the officer arrived at the location. The umpire at the game confirmed that members of both teams had been involved in verbal confrontations throughout the game. The Edgewater Recreation Department was advised of the situation.

On August 12, 2015, at about 9:25 PM, officers responded to a disturbance in an apartment unit in the 2800 block of Harlan Street that was reported by the apartment security guard. The officers’ investigation revealed that the disturbance involved a domestic violence incident during which a male and female victim sustained minor injuries during an altercation with the male victim’s ex-girlfriend. In addition, a tire on the male victim’s vehicle parked in the apartment parking lot and a mattress in the apartment unit were slashed by a knife. The suspect, a 22-year-old female resident of Edgewater, was arrested and booked into the Jefferson County Jail for menacing with a deadly weapon, 3rd degree assault, child abuse and criminal mischief.

On August 15, 2015, at about 3:45 AM, officers working a special DUI enforcement team observed a vehicle weaving in the 2400 block of Sheridan Boulevard. When the officers stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver, a 25-year-old female resident of Denver, she was arrested and issued a Jefferson County Court summons for failing to drive her vehicle in a single lane of traffic (weaving), failing to present evidence of vehicle insurance upon demand and DUI.
