Edgewater Police Report: October 13, 2015

From Edgewater Police Chief John Mackey:

On October 11, 2015 at about 10:00 AM Edgewater Officers received a report of a domestic altercation in the 1800 block of Depew Street. The investigation concluded with a 49 year old Edgewater male being jailed on domestic violence.

On October 11, 2015 at about 1:35 AM in the 2500 block of Sheridan Blvd. Edgewater Officers contacted a vehicle and driver for DUI. A 43 year old Denver man was arrested for DUI.

On October 10, 2015 at about 5:20 PM Edgewater Officers received a report of a male injecting himself in the area of 17th and Sheridan Blvd. Officers contacted a 23 year old homeless male who was sleeping on the lawn adjacent to the intersection. Officers found that the homeless man had an active protection order that prohibited the gentleman from possessing or consuming alcoholic beverages or controlled substances. The man was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail for a future discussion with the judge.

On October 10, 2015 at about 3:00 AM in the 2300 block of Sheridan Blvd. Edgewater Officers contacted a vehicle and driver for traffic violations. A 30 year old Brighton man was subsequently arrested for DUI.

On October 10, 2015 at about 1:40 AM in the 2400 block of Sheridan Blvd. Edgewater Officers contacted a vehicle and driver for traffic violations. A 44 year old Denver female was arrested for DUI.

On October 10, 2015 at about 12:30 AM in the 6000 block of W. 20th Ave Edgewater Officers contacted a vehicle and driver for traffic violations. A 30 year old Thornton female was arrested for DUI.

During the overnight hours between October 7th and 8th, an Edgewater resident reported his vehicle stolen from the 2600 block of Ingalls St. Officers were advised that a resident’s 97 green Honda Accord had been left locked and unattended overnight, and the vehicle was missing on the morning of the 8th.

Officers responded to two separate shoplifting reports at the Target Store, 1985 Sheridan Blvd. Officers arrested a 27 year old Arvada male, and a 24 year old Arvada female. Both persons were released on Municipal Summons’.

On October 5, 2015 at about 4:30 AM Edgewater Officers were patrolling the Duchess Apartments parking lot, 6815 W. 24th Avenue when they observed a Honda Civic parked in the lot. Due to the high incidence of Honda auto thefts the officers checked the vehicle further and found that it had been stolen out of Pueblo. The vehicle was towed by officers to be released back to the owner.

Edgewater Officers have been collectively working with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives on the follow-up investigation involving the Fast Cash Pawn Shop, 2551 Sheridan Blvd. Investigation continues.
