Volunteer Opportunity at Jefferson High School

The Goodwill CareerPlus Mentoring program at Jefferson High School is looking for one more adult mentor. This program is dedicated to closing the achievement gap by preparing all students for college and other postsecondary opportunities. Students vary in academic standing and level of career/college readiness.

The mentoring opportunity is on Wednesdays from 12:35pm-1:35pm.

Program requirements and details:

  • Completes mentor intake process on time and without incident
  • Committed to at least 1 school year of mentoring (Sept 2015-May 2016)
  • Committed to making mentoring sessions (once a week) on a very regular basis and notifying Goodwill staff if they are unable to attend a session a week in advance.
  • Mentors knowledge and willingness to work with students on variety of topics based on the needs of the student(s) including: job searching/applications, career exploration, problem-solving, navigating the adult world, college readiness
