A view of Farm to Treatment Table’s beautiful new space

Today we are spotlighting one of Edgewater’s newest businesses, Farm to Treatment Table, which is located at 5354 W. 25th Avenue just west of Edgewater Inn. Here is our interview with owner and operator Becky Kellogg.

How did you get involved in this business?

I have been a physical therapist since 2001, and a certified Pilates instructor since 2005. I have worked at and managed an orthopedic outpatient clinic in Wheat Ridge for the last 11 years, and felt I was ready for a change. I decided that I wanted to pursue my own private physical therapy and Pilates practice. My passion for gardening, creating things, and helping people led me down the path of making my own herbal remedy lotions, and eventually getting involved in selling cannabidiol (CBD) products. I think that it is a great adjunct to my physical therapy practice, as I have already seen the products help some of my chronic pain patients, and allowed us to progress further with therapy.

What drew you to open a business in Edgewater?

I live very close to Edgewater, and frequently walk my dogs throughout the neighborhood, along 25th Avenue, and around Sloan’s Lake. I was very excited to see a commercial space for rent in historic Edgewater, as I knew it would be the perfect place for my private practice. I have witnessed the growth and development specifically along 25th Avenue and am very happy to be a part of that; plus I can ride my bike to work! I am excited to bring physical therapy and rehabilitative based Pilates to Edgewater; I hope to offer something both new and beneficial to the community.

What services/products do you offer?

Farm to Treatment Table offers one on one physical therapy sessions, Pilates, and small group Pilates classes. Physical therapy sessions are 30 or 60 minutes, and may include trigger point dry needling, muscle energy techniques, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, joint mobilization/manipulation, therapeutic exercise, and Pilates. I also incorporate the use of, and sell, CBD products. CBD has been found to be beneficial in pain and inflammation control. I will also be leasing part of my space to Cross Bodywork + Massage; available for therapeutic massage, prenatal massage, cupping, and Thai massage.

What makes your business unique?

Farm to Treatment Table is the first physical therapy clinic in the Denver area to incorporate a range of CBD products in conjunction with skilled physical therapy. Our treatment plans are always one on one, and designed around the client’s individual goals and needs. Our model is also unique in that we are a private pay physical therapy practice, however, with insurance costs going up, reimbursement rates going down, and quality care taking a backseat to productivity in an insurance based therapy model, I believe that private pay physical therapy will become more mainstream in the near future. By going out of network, my practice is not limited by time, procedures, or number of visits allowed; I have the freedom to treat clients exactly as I determine based on my own evaluation and assessment.
