Comments from the Nextdoor website in regards to DUI enforcement;

In this time of sorrow and uncertainty I wanted to express my condolences for the loss of your brothers. Each and every one of you is most appreciated and supported by myself and hundreds more from our Edgewater community. I specifically appreciate all you do above and beyond the call of duty. The Edgewater Police Department should be applauded for all you do for our community, our safety, developing good relationships with us a residents, and for having our backs. As best as I can I will always have your backs as well. Thank you and God Bless Each and Every One of You.

My Cat and I would like to thank everyone at the Edgewater Police Department for their service to the community!

Edgewater Police Department – We want you to know how much we appreciate what you do and that support for you far outweighs anything else. Thank you for protecting and serving our city.

Thank you for the updates and please pass on our support for the men and women on our force who put their communities concerns ahead of theirs everyday by serving us without question.

Stay safe out there!

Very pleased that our marijuana businesses are not selling to minors!

Of course our officers don’t always receive such nice receptions on calls for service – from an Edgewater Sergeant this week:

We had a gang fight last night in front of 2839 Ingalls St. Suspects were all old school North Side Mafia. One was captured by Corporal Geerdes after a foot chase through Terra Village. None of the captured would provide information to police and two had to be hospitalized. One suspect kicked and spit all over the inside of Corporal Geerdes patrol car. He said if he had his gun we would be dead and stated he was happy the cops in Dallas were all killed. Use caution if responding to similar calls in this area.

Again excellent police work on a busy night!!!! SF

Neighbor’s notes and “Kudo’s” are placed in the lobby of the police station and placed in the respective officer’s personnel files – thanks for sharing!
