Arrests in Street Robbery Case Due to Tremendous Assistance by Local Youth

From Edgewater Police Chief John Mackey:

Although it’s too early to provide many details, I wanted residents to know that our Edgewater Police Officers, School Resource Officer and Detective have begun to identify the assailants in this past week’s street robbery of two of our young Edgewater residents and students.

I would like neighbors to know these two young local boys who were confronted with extreme violence acted bravely and calmly and have been able to assist our police department tremendously in solving this crime. This offense in our neighborhood disturbs us greatly and our detective, SRO and officers have worked diligently to put the first offender in jail and we will continue in the coming week(s) to identify and jail the other persons involved. More to follow.
