Give a Book, Support a Teacher

One thing you hear loud and clear from teachers is that they need high quality books for their classrooms. With Edgewater Collective’s work with the Jefferson Success Pathway and the goal of seeing 3rd grade reading scores increase among area students, this is a need they would love to see met.

So this Friday Edgewater Collective is hosting a Jefferson Area Teacher Reception for teachers at Edgewater, Lumberg, Molholm and Jefferson Jr/Sr High School. From 3:30-5 pm teachers can stop by the Edgewater Collective office at 5220 West 25th Avenue to pick up free books for their classroom. Thanks to Joyride Brewing Company and other local businesses, they are also providing free, delicious food and drink.

Thanks to a generous donor, Edgewater Collective already has fifteen boxes of high quality books ready for teachers to pick up. They also ordered new books from Scholastic including books in Spanish for the dual language classrooms.

Edgewater Collective is accepting high quality books for children kindergarten through 12th grade. You can drop them off before 3 pm on Friday. If they aren’t at the office to accept them, you can pass them through the mail slot at the front door.
