Spring Edgewater Parks and Recreation Activities

From Edgewater Parks and Recreation:

Hello Edgewater Parks and Recreation participants.

Well this February has been unusually warm this year, which makes me feel like spring is here.  Officially the first day of spring is March 20th of this year so we still have a little bit of time but that means the Parks and Recreation Programs are almost underway.  Here is an overview of what is to come.

YOUTH SPORTS

Youth Basketball
Ages 5-6, 7-9, 10-12.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE is March 1.  That’s this WEDNESDAY.  Don’t hesitate to register as we will get started soon after.  Registration will take place at www.playedgewater.com or at City Hall located at 2401 Sheridan Blvd.

YOUTH DANCE

Youth Dance Classes
Anything from Jr. Hip Hop to Ballet class is offered this year.  Next session starts in a couple of week at the end of March so registration deadline is soon so please do not hesitate as some classes will fill up and there will be penalties for late registration.

YOUTH CLASSES

Youth Yoga
Youth Yoga has been a success here in Edgewater with it’s first year being 2016 of being offered.  The instructor Selena Blanco will help your child to learn movement and have fun in learning yoga positions as you also learn overall health.

Youth Choir
New this year, we have instructor Susie Frey, who will be your conductor for chior classes.  This fun class will e taught in an age appropriate setting to learn the fundamentals of music and singing.  For more information and to register, please visit www.playedgewater.com.

YOUTH CAMPS

TRY-Arts Creative Summer Camp Pack
June 7-June 30

Also new this year created, inspired, and brought to you by three of our most popular teachers (and mothers) from the City of Edgewater Parks and Recreation. Our unique four (4) week, multi-disciplinary summer camp is jam packed full of fun, safe, interactive, and energizing activities. Included every day are three (3) dynamic art mediums: dance & movement, singing & music, and yoga & meditation. Other activities include: Picnic and Play in the Park, summer reading program, arts and crafts, guest artists, cooking class, nature exploration, and local historical Edgewater walking-tours.
Summer campers are required to bring a sack lunch and water bottle. Classes will meet at the Recreation Room located at 5845 W. 25th Ave. Camp will be held Wednesday through Friday. Register at www.playedgewater.com

ADULTS SPORTS

Adult Co-ed and Men’s League Softball
16+ Year Olds
Join the City of Edgewater for another great season of Adult Softball. The Spring season starts in the beginning of April and runs through the end of June. The Fall season starts in mid-August and will run through mid-October. Teams will play a minimum of eight (8) league games with a tournament to conclude the season. Don’t wait to sign up as space is limited! If you are a team manager looking for more players, we have a lineup list for extra players in case teams are in need.
