Edgewater Civic Center Update: March 10, 2017

From Deputy City Manager Dan Maples:

Good afternoon.
As we head into the weekend, wanted to drop a short update with work towards the Civic Center. The majority of the work this week was in preparation for the Public Houses next week.

Parks, Recreation, Historical Preservation and Art Advisory Board
This week our design team met with the Edgewater Parks, Recreation, Historical Preservation and Arts Advisory Board to look at fitness and museum components of the Civic Center. The design team was able to discuss a lot of the program components to the board while listening to feedback. The design team felt this was a very productive meeting and is very excited to include some of the feedback into the Open Houses next week.

Design Work
The design team is still working to map out all of the working components of the Civic Center. They are very excited to start involving public input into the design, following the first round of Open Houses. They are optimistic that they will be able to produce a very basic design to be used at the second set of Open Houses.

Public Open Houses
The first set of Open Houses will be held this next week! There are two sets of Public Open Houses scheduled. The first set will be on Wednesday, March 15th and Saturday, March 18th. The second set will be on Wednesday March 29th and April 1st. The initial two Open Houses will be listening sessions for the design team to listen and discuss different public comments on the facility and all of the components of the facility. The second two open houses will be for hearing additional public comments and also presenting some of the design comments heard at the initial public houses. For times and locations please visit our website at www.edgewaterco.com and follow the link to the Edgewater Civic Center Update. We hope everyone will come to the open houses and provide needed public input.
