Edgewater City Weekly: 11/17/2017

Updated design of the Edgewater Civic Center

From the City of Edgewater:

Public Works / Streets / Utilities

Leaf Pick-Up: Republic Services will be providing the leaf pick-up on Thursday, November 9th, 16th & 30th. Customers that have the City sponsored trash service can leave bags of leaves next to their Republic trash carts on the above-mentioned dates for pick-up.
25th Ave.

Tree Planters: In an effort to keep 25th Ave. free of debris, the Public Works crew is working on removing all of the planters. The planters will be re-installed next May for planting but will be stored for winter. This will assist with the planters being used for trash cans throughout the winter. It will also free up some space along the sidewalks of 25th Ave. and give us and the property owners the ability to clean the areas that the planters took up.

Meter Reading: Meter reading week is again upon on us. You may see meter readers out on your property next week reading water meters. Please make sure the readers have a clear path to the meter reading unit.

Civic Center

Sewer Line Realignment: The City of Edgewater is working with a contractor to realign a sewer line that was previously located in the area for the Edgewater Civic Center. This project has closed Harlan St. between 17th Ave. and 20th Ave. We apologize for the closure and expect to have the street back open next week.

Construction Camera: The Construction Camera is up and operational! Please visit the City of Edgewater website to view current still photos of the construction or past time lapse videos.

City Clerk

Election Results: On Tuesday, November 7, 2017, the Edgewater residents stepped up and placed their votes. As of November 16, 2017, we had 1160 votes for Mayor and 2586 votes cast for City Council.

All candidates worked very hard campaigning for the position and should all be commended for their efforts. Congratulations to Laura Keegan for winning the Mayoral Election and John Beltrone, Caleb Rountree and Janet Spangenberg for the open City Council seats.
