Pints for Prostates

From Pints for Prostates:

The very generous and community-minded folks at Joyride Brewing Company at 25th and Sheridan, Edgewater are holding a fundraising event from 11-4 on Saturday 11/11. $1 from every pint sold will be donated to Pints for Prostates, a national prostate cancer awareness nonprofit. The boys have doubled-down by also brewing a special beer, So Fresh and So Cream with Blueberries, $1 from each pint of the entire batch will go to prostate cancer awareness. [applause].

But wait! There’s more! Our brother/sister organization Prostate Conditions Education Council will be giving FREE PSA tests from 1-4,. it’s a simple 30 second blood draw that could save your life or the life of someone you love. And on that, it’s not just a men’s thing – the man you save may be your own. So come on down with the men of your life and challenge them to raise their awareness, raise a glass and get tested. As the Pints for Prostates tag line says: “Get Tested. Live Longer. Drink More Beer!”

Pints for Prostates-supporting items and raffle tickets for a 5 day trip for 2 to North and South Carolina will be available. See details below.

About Pints for Prostates

Pints for Prostates reaches men through the universal language of beer to encourage them to take charge of their health. The group was founded by prostate cancer survivor and beer writer Rick Lyke in 2008. The grassroots effort raises awareness among men about the importance of regular men’s health screenings by making appearances at beer festivals, social networking and pro bono advertising. According to the National Cancer Institute, approximately 161,000 new prostate cancer cases will be diagnosed in 2017 in the U.S. More information is available at www.pintsforprostates.org. Pints for Prostates also has a presence on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (@pints4prostates).
