Parks and Recreation

Youth Basketball: Youth Basketball registration is now up and running and will end March 2nd. Please register at www.playedgewater.com We will have a 5-6 year old age group, 7-9 year old age group and a 10-12 year old age group. Registration ends February 25th.

Adult Men’s and Co-ed Softball: Registration is underway. Each softball season is set for an 8-week season of league play followed by a single elimination tournament. The 2018 softball season will start the second week in April. $525 per team, 20 players per team on the roster. Registration ends April 1st.

Hackers Golf Tour: Hacker’s Golf Tour is a monthly golf outing for Edgewater residents to get together and enjoy a round of golf. Each month starting in April we will be going to a different course around the area to experience some new greens. Reservations are held under “City of Edgewater” please register online so we know how many tee times we need to hold. For more information on courses we are visiting and for registration, please go to www.playedgewater.com under ADULT SPORTS. Green fees will apply once you arrive to the course.

Volunteer Programs: Edgewater has a wide variety of volunteer opportunities, coaching youth sports, working an event, our snow angel program and helping a neighbor to shovel snow. Each volunteer must pass a background screening. Please register at www.playedgewater.com under the “Volunteers” tab.

Breckenridge Ice Sculpture Senior Trip: January 25th we still have 4 spots left to go see the Breckenridge Ice Sculptures for the Edgewater Senior trips. Please sign up online at www.playedgewater.com or at our City Hall at 2401 Sheridan Blvd.

Public Works and Utilities

Eaton / Depew Storm Drain Project: Our contractors have completed the installation of the new storm drain in the 2000 block alley between Depew St. and Eaton St. We expect to have an asphalt crew to overlay the alley with new asphalt starting on January 19th. We also have some remediation work that will be on-going for the remainder of this month.

Meter Reading: Meter reading week is again upon on us. You may see meter readers out on your property next week reading water meters. Please make sure the readers have a clear path to the meter reading unit.

Public Works Job Opportunity: The Edgewater Public Works Department currently has a Senior Maintenance Worker position open. This position works under the supervision of the Public Works Supervisor to provide maintenance for City infrastructure. To find out more about this position please visit www.edgewaterco.com.
