Beginning with Thomas Sloan accidentally digging a well into a large underground aquifer in the 1860s and creating Sloan’s Lake, our small village of Edgewater has an interesting history. At the Edgewater Echo, we want to tell these stories of Edgewater’s history so that we can be proud of the town we call home.
For those that are interested in histories of Edgewater that have already been written, check out the Edgewater Library and two books in particular. Edgewater, Colorado : A Centennial Celebration written by Celora Jean Jones and Edgewater Four Score History of a Town Sprung from Saloon by Judith Allison are worth reading.
