With Councilwoman Janka Flaska’s resignation in April, Edgewater City Council looked to fill the position as soon as possible. Four applications were received for the vacancy and last night City Council interviewed applicants for the position.
Edgewater Planning and Zoning Chair Steve Conklin was voted unanimously to fill the rest of Flaska’s term through 2015.
Conklin has lived in Edgewater for over 15 years and successfully led the Planning and Zoning Commission through a “clean and scrub” updating of the zoning code. Steve is a proven leader who cares deeply about Edgewater, valuing its past while looking toward the future.
Joel has been a resident of Edgewater, Colorado with his family since 2012. He is the Executive Director of local education nonprofit Edgewater Collective and Editor of the Edgewater Echo.
