Edgewater Police Report from Chief John Hough:
On March 16, 2015, at about 3:20 AM, officers from the Edgewater, Mountain View and Lakeside Police Departments responded to a house fire in the 2000 block of Eaton Street. The fire was originally thought to be accidental in nature; however, subsequent investigation by Fire Marshals from the Wheat Ridge Fire Department and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation determined that the origin of the fire was suspicious. The fire is being investigated as an arson. Two residents of the home sustained minor injuries during the fire but they did not need hospitalization.
On March 21, 2015, at about 12:15 AM, an officer on routine patrol observed the driver of a vehicle at 22nd Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard commit several traffic violations. The officer stopped the vehicle in the 1400 block of Sheridan Boulevard and contacted the driver, a 43-year-oldl male resident of Littleton. The driver was arrested and issued a Jefferson County Court summons for failing to stop at a stop sign, making a right turn from the wrong lane, failing to operate his vehicle in a single lane of traffic (weaving), failure to provide evidence of vehicle insurance and DUI.
Sometime between 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM on March 22, 2015 a 1994 blue Honda Accord was stolen from the street in front of a residence in the 2500 block of Ames Street.
