From Edgewater Police Chief John Hough:
On July 1, 2015, at about 3:00 AM, an officer conducting traffic enforcement observed a speeding vehicle southbound in the 2200 block of Sheridan Boulevard. When the officer stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver, a 40-year-old male resident of Denver, he was arrested and booked into Jefferson County Jail for speeding, violating his restriction on his driver’s license regarding requiring an ignition interlock device, operating a vehicle other than a vehicle equipped with an ignition interlock device and DUI.
On July 5, 2015, at about 12:35 AM, officers from the Mountain View, Lakeside and Edgewater Police Departments responded to a report of a felony menacing involving a firearm in the 2100 block of Jay Street. Dispatch advised the responding officers that there were multiple individuals involved in the incident. When the officers arrived at the location and separated multiple individuals to obtain their conflicting statements, they determined that there was not enough evidence to substantiate that a crime had occurred. Several of the individuals involved in the incident were openly hostile and aggressive toward the officers and refused to cooperate in the investigation. The incident escalated from a dispute about fireworks being shot into the yard of a residence.
On July 5, 2015, at about 1:15 AM, officers conducting DUI enforcement observed a vehicle speeding in the 2200 block of Sheridan Boulevard. When the officers stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver, a 43-year-old male resident of Westminster, he was arrested and issued a Jefferson County Court summons for speeding, drinking an alcoholic beverage in his vehicle and DUI.
Later on July 5, 2015, at about 2:50 AM, an officer on routine patrol observed a vehicle weaving in the 2400 block of Sheridan Boulevard. When the officer stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver, a 43-year-old female resident of Englewood, she was arrested and issued a Jefferson County Court summons for failing to operate her vehicle in a single lane of traffic (weaving), failing to present proof of insurance and DUI.
