From Edgewater Police Chief John Mackey:
On October 4, 2015 at about 2:10 PM Edgewater Officers received a report of a robbery that had just occurred at the Fast Cash Pawn Store, 2551 Sheridan Blvd. Officers arrived on scene and contacted four employees and six customers of the store, although the suspects had fled the area shortly before officers arrived. The robbers, a black female, and three black males, entered the store each carrying a semi-automatic handgun. The gunmen were all wearing ski masks as they entered the store, and they ordered both the employees and customers to lie face down on the floor. The gunmen patted down and searched each person, and stole cash from both the customers and employees. The robbers took over $14,000 in cash, $27,000 in jewelry and four assault rifles, and fled in a 2004 Silver Pontiac 4 Door Grand Prix.
On October 1, 2015, shortly before 1 AM, Edgewater Officers were asked to assist the Greeley Police Department in locating a vehicle that had been involved in a home invasion robbery homicide in Greeley. An Edgewater resident armed with a handgun had invaded a home in Greeley on September 30, 2015 and been shot and killed by the two homeowners. Edgewater Officers conducted an exhaustive search of the suspect vehicle, and subsequently located the vehicle which was turned over to Greeley Police. The follow-up investigation led to the arrest of a female resident of Edgewater and a male resident of Denver.

On September 28, 2015 at about 8:20 PM Edgewater Officers responded to the Target Store, 1985 Sheridan Blvd on report of a bicycle theft. A Denver resident had left his red mountain bicycle locked to the bicycle rack at 8 PM. The man returned at 8:20 PM to find his bicycle missing and the cut bicycle lock on the ground next to the rack. Officers contacted store security to review the security camera video. The security camera displayed a male and female driving a maroon sport utility vehicle steal the bicycle with the use of bolt cutters.
Edgewater Officers responded to four separate shoplifting cases this past week and subsequently arrested four persons for shoplifting. All four persons were cited into the Edgewater Municipal Court.
