Though the Edgewater Volunteer Fire Department transitioned to become part of the Wheat Ridge Fire Protection District a few years ago, memories of this important part of Edgewater’s history are strong. Now you have a chance to experience the history of the Edgewater Fire Department and remember those who served and protected our community.
Here is an announcement from the City of Edgewater with details about how you can interact with these great materials and stories from Edgewater’s past:
In honor of Fire Prevention Month (October), the Edgewater Parks, Recreation, Historical Preservation and Arts Advisory Board has set up a display of Edgewater Volunteer Fire Department historical materials. The display is located at 2401 Sheridan Blvd., upstairs in the museum area. The area is open during normal City business hours (M-F 8am – 5pm) and a few outside business hours including Saturday (10/24/15) from 9am – 11:30am.
Joel has been a resident of Edgewater, Colorado with his family since 2012. He is the Executive Director of local education nonprofit Edgewater Collective and Editor of the Edgewater Echo.
