With the Edgewater King Soopers Grand Re-Opening today (8/10/2016), we interviewed Store Manager Joddy Pettit on the investment that King Soopers has made in the Edgewater community with the redesigned store.
How long have you been manager at the Edgewater King Soopers?
I’ve been the Manager at this store for a little more than a year and a half.
What excites you most about the re-designed store?
Since my arrival at this store, the customers that shop here have been telling us that we need to improve our variety, expand natural and organic selections, and in general, update our facility. I’m proud that we were able to act upon those requests and hopefully deliver on all of those things – plus a little! There are so many exciting elements about this re-design, but if I had to narrow it down to one – that would be it.
What are the new elements in the Edgewater King Soopers?
There are a lot! But the biggies include:
- A Starbucks Coffee Shop
- Gourmet Cheese Island and anti-pasta bar
- Expanded the Deli which now includes a new soup bar, sandwich bar, and the addition of Boar’s Head products
- Fresh Sushi bar that produces product daily right in our store!
- An Optimum wellness and nutrition center that offers a whole new line of organic and natural products that can only be found at a select number of King Soopers stores
- Expanded Organic and natural options throughout our fresh departments and dry grocery
What do you love most about the Edgewater community?
Edgewater is a very diverse and exciting area of town. I love the variety of shops and restaurants, eclectic architecture, and some of the most down-to-earth and friendly people that I have ever had the pleasure of serving.
Joel has been a resident of Edgewater, Colorado with his family since 2012. He is the Executive Director of local education nonprofit Edgewater Collective and Editor of the Edgewater Echo.
