As of early morning November 9, the City of Edgewater Ballot Question 2B proposing the new Edgewater Civic Center passed with 81.53% voting yes to 18.47% voting no. Now the City of Edgewater will move forward with plans to build a new Edgewater Civic Center on the north side of Walker Branch Park.
According to the Citizens for the Edgewater Civic Center, here is the expected timeline for the project:
- January 2017: Request for Proposals for Design Contract
- Spring 2017: Execute Construction Contract
- June 2017: Issue debt to finance project
- August 2017: Ground Breaking
- Summer 2018: Grand Opening
