From the City of Edgewater:
In November of 2016, Edgewater residents voted 81% in favor of building a new Civic Center in Walker Branch Park. The building is planned to include a 6,000 square foot fitness center, 8,000 square foot gymnasium, 10,000 square foot library, 6,000 square foot police department and 10,000 square foot administrative offices and public meeting space as well as entry and atrium space.
D2C Architects/NV5 have been contracted as the Architects/Owners Representatives to carry out the Community Based Design Process, complete the Land Use/Planning for the project and provide project oversight Owners Representative and Project Management Services.
D2C Architects/NV5 and staff from the City of Edgewater invite you to actively participate in the project through a series of Community Design Open Houses which will occur on:
Information Gathering #1
Wednesday, March 15 from 6-8 pm or Saturday, March 18 from 1-3 pm
At the Edgewater Municipal Building (2401 Sheridan Blvd.)
Information Gathering #2 & Feedback #1
Wednesday, March 29 from 6-8 pm or Saturday, April 1 from 10 am – 12 pm
At the Edgewater Municipal Building (2401 Sheridan Blvd.)
The purpose of the Open Houses is to collect your vision, thoughts, goals, needs and wants for the proposed Civic Center including the building sustainability, library component, fitness component, administrative office and public safety functions.
This is not a formal “presentation,” so there is no need to be there right when the doors open. Instead this is an interactive process with the Design team where we hope to capture your thoughts and comments, while simultaneously discussing the project. The design is in the preliminary stages, so now is the best time to gain your input.
We look forward to seeing you for the first Open House sessions on March 15 or 18 (these will be the same format, so you only need to attend one of each group of these open houses).
