From the City of Edgewater:
Public Works / Streets / Utilities
Leaf Pick-Up:
Republic Services will be providing the leaf pick-up on Thursday, November 9th, 16th & 30th. Customers that have the City sponsored trash service can leave bags of leaves next to their Republic trash carts on the above-mentioned dates for pick-up.
25th Ave. Tree Planters: In an effort to keep 25th Ave. free of debris, the Public Works crew is working on removing all of the planters. The planters will be re-installed next May for planting but will be stored for winter. This will assist with the planters being used for trash cans throughout the winter. It will also free up some space along the sidewalks of 25th Ave. and give us and the property owners the ability to clean the areas that the planters took up.
Safe Routes to School Grant: The City of Edgewater, with Jefferson County Public School District, applied this week for the Safe Routes to Schools fund through CDOT. The grant was for funding to assist with some changes (previously discussed in City Council meeting) to Pierce St. We are optimistic about our application and hope to hear something early next Spring.
Civic Center Construction: If you have been by the Civic Center site you will have noticed a lot has been going on. The crews are working to complete demolition the end of this week and initiate ground early next week. The City has installed a construction camera that will go live next week. We are still working out some issues with websites.
Charge Ahead Colorado Grant: The City of Edgewater has submitted a grant to Charge Ahead Colorado for two new electric charging stations at the Edgewater Civic Center. The grant would pay for the charging station and the installation. We have previously planned to install all of the support infrastructure and come back later for the stations. This grant may give us the opportunity to get a little ahead. Fingers crossed.
