Brenda Calderon, a student at Jefferson Junior/Senior High School, was one of the recipients of the Jeffco Hero Award from the Jeffco Schools Foundation. The Hero Award recognizes Jeffco Public Schools students and teachers of extraordinary character, leadership and strength. According to the Foundation, “Honorees are chosen by a volunteer selection committee comprised of community leaders/educators and Jeffco Schools Foundation Board members. Each student received a full ride scholarship to Red Rocks Community College and $1,000 scholarship presented by Jeffco Schools Foundation.”
