Student leaders from Jefferson Junior/Senior High School attended the 2018 FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) State Leadership Conference last week. The eight students who attended, represented Jefferson with professionalism, respect, and leadership all while challenging themselves to step outside their comfort zone.
Ofelia Moreno-Trujillo and Abbi King were both elected and installed as officers of the 2018-2018 Jeffco District Officer Team. Ofelia will be serving as the District President and VP of Hospitality, while Abbi will be serving as VP of Public Relations and Recognition.
All eight students who attended the conference planned, implemented, and then presented their service learning projects to a panel of judges.
- Nancy Munoz and Monse Garcia received a silver medal with their STEM Focus on Children project.
- Sonya Hernandez received a bronze medal with her Impact of Peer Pressure Focus on Children project.
- Viridiana Rodriguez received a bronze medal with her Teens and Tobacco Illustrated Talk project.
- Flor Calzadilla received a bronze medal with her Fashion Construction project.
- Ofelia Moreno-Trujillo received a bronze medal with her Promote and Publicize FCCLA project.
- Abbi King and Adrian Campbell received a bronze medal with their Promote and Publicize FCCLA project.
Joel has been a resident of Edgewater, Colorado with his family since 2012. He is the Executive Director of local education nonprofit Edgewater Collective and Editor of the Edgewater Echo.
