Jefferson Junior/Senior High School’s successful wrestling program now has two more State Champions: Angelo Lozado and Nick Gallegos. Angelo Lozado defeated Toby Gavette (Eaton) in a 6-3 decision and took the 3A 113lb state title. Nick Gallegos won by decision over Oswaldo Nunez (Brush) and won the 152lb state title.
Jefferson also had two wrestlers place third in their respective weight classes. Andrew Sansburn won by decision over Colton Liddell (Alamosa) to take 3rd place in 132lb. Zander Condit won by tech fall over Daniel Caddy (Moffat County) to take 3rd place in 138lb.
Jefferson also tied for third place with Eagle Valley in 3A team scores.
