Thanks to Jefferson County voters, Jefferson Junior/Senior High School will be the first of the Edgewater area schools to see major renovations because the ballot initiative 5B passed last November. Work will begin soon at Jefferson, so it is important to hear from the surrounding community.
Community members are invited to attend a community conversation about education in Edgewater on Saturday, March 9 at the Edgewater Civic Center (1800 Harlan Street). The event will begin at 10 am.
Possible programming options and career pathways at Jefferson Junior/Senior High School will be discussed and community ideas and feedback will be gathered. Attendees will hear about the new programming options at the elementary schools. Edgewater Elementary School will begin a Two Way Dual Language program in the fall and Lumberg Elementary School is already implementing Expeditionary Learning.
All community members are invited to participate and add their voice to what Jefferson and other Edgewater schools will become.
