From Laura Keegan:
It will be an honor and a privilege to represent the citizens of Edgewater as your Mayor for another two years. I’m running for re-election because I love Edgewater and its community. I’ll continue representing the people as I have done, first as a city councilwoman for nearly 9 years and as the mayor for the past 2 years. I will continue giving voice to community concerns and facilitating solutions between our elected officials and city staff, and appointing strong boards and commission members who put service to the community first. I’ll work to preserve our small town history and character. I’ll continue to represent Edgewater at city, county and state levels, finding solutions to our common issues. I will continue to strengthen and build ties between community, city staff, council, boards and commissions, and businesses.
I’ve been involved in the numerous changes and carefully planned growth since I began fighting, as a young mother, for the rights and needs of our community. I’ve served with many other dedicated people and together we’ve seen the city grow and become a highly desired neighborhood in which to live, locate a business and visit; I will work to keep that on track. I have not and will not quit when I know an issue will help build a stronger community for our citizens, businesses and visitors. I’ll continue working to improve our city with the help and support of a strong community that is represented by a committed council and city staff.
