Open Plots at the Jefferson Community Garden

The COVID-19 pandemic has raised the need for locally grown produce and changes to our food systems. Gardeners, whether beginners or experts, are invited to obtain a plot at the Jefferson Community Garden on the southwest corner of Pierce and 24th in Edgewater. It’s a great opportunity to learn about gardening in Colorado and grow your own food.

Edgewater Collective and local residents work with Jefferson Jr/Sr High School teachers and staff to manage the Jefferson Community Garden located at the southwest corner of 24th Avenue and Pierce Street in Edgewater. The Jefferson Community Garden is part of the Denver Urban Gardens (DUG) program. This garden was launched in 2013 by Jefferson High School and other community partners to encourage healthy eating among students and their families.

Plots are $45 ($20 plot fee and $25 DUG membership) for a gardening season. A background check is necessary to start the process of obtaining a plot.
