Our staff has been taking time off over the holiday break to gear up for what we hope will be a very impactful new year in 2022. Here’s an idea of what we are gearing up for in January 2022:
- Expansion of our after school Jefferson Success Academy to reach more students at Edgewater Elementary and Molholm Elementary with literacy and math support as well as fun and engaging enrichment programs.
- Continued work with our Family Council to advocate for healthy school lunch meals.
- Launching a Resident Council at one of Edgewater’s largest apartment complexes where residents can work together to address opportunities and needs. Thanks to Community First Foundation, funds will be available to residents to take action on their plans to improve connections at their apartment complex.
- Providing a delicious breakfast for teachers and staff at our four focus schools on their first day back at school in January.
- Starting a video interview series called Brews on the Edge where we will interview Edgewater residents, business owners and school leaders to connect our community with the people and places that make Edgewater special.
- Hiring local residents to write for the Edgewater Echo and share their unique stories and viewpoints on what is happening around town.
Would you consider donating today so that we can meet our year-end fundraising goal and be ready to launch these exciting programs with our community?
