Planning & Zoning and Board of Adjustments & Appeals Openings
Do you have an interest in land use issues in Edgewater and want to give back to our community? The City is seeking residents interested in serving on our Planning & Zoning Commission, and our Board of Adjustment and Appeals!
In 2022, P&Z Commission will be leading a public process to update Edgewater’s 2013 Comprehensive Plan so it’s a great time to get involved!
P&Z Commission is a five-member board that serves as an advisory body to City Council. The commission reviews developments, subdivisions and rezonings, and formulates Edgewater’s long-range comprehensive plan. This board meets on the third Wednesday of the month. Time commitment of approximately 5 to 7 hours a month.
BOA is a five-member board that hears appeals of the zoning ordinance and building code, and requests for variances from the land development code. This board meets as needed, on the second Wednesday of the month. Time commitment of approximately 2 to 4 hours a month/when there is a meeting.
History. Arts, Recreation, and Parks (HARP) Board Openings
Do you love the history of Edgewater? An artist? Love using the parks around town? Or are you interested in helping with events? We are looking for residents to join the The HARP Board- the perfect opportunity for you to get involved with your community!
HARP is a seven-member board who are passionate about the unique culture of the City of Edgewater. The purpose of the Board is to plan, advise and promote long-range programs and events that highlight Edgewater’s historic, artistic and cultural value in cooperation with the City. The time commitment varies – depending on the events happening in the city each month.
Volunteer Fire Fighter’s Pension Board
The Board is charged with the duty of managing and administering the fund and providing for the payment of pensions to firemen and their dependents as provided by state law.
