WHY: The FACC is one of the oldest Asian-American communities in Colorado. A 100% volunteer run organization that’s been around for 68 years, they pride themselves in creating a ‘home away from home’ for Asian Americans living in Colorado by hosting monthly volunteer and community events. As part of our mission to be a impactful community, the FACC has invited the Attorney General to Speak with the Asian American Pacific Islander community in the Denver Metro area. Over the past few years there has been a rise of crimes against Asian Americans, biases in reporting Asian Hate Crimes, new Asian Hate legislation, serious crimes against AAPI seniors, exclusion of Asian American History in Schools and Roe vs Wade overturned. We need to learn more and understand what our Attorney General can do to support our AAPI Community.
This event will be held at Bahay Kubo (1900 Harlan Street, Edgewater) on Sunday.
