The winning tradition for Jefferson Junior/Senior High School wrestling continued Saturday evening at Ball Arena. Jefferson’s Samuel Rosales won the 3A State Championship in the 120lb division. Rosales is the 10th Jefferson wrestler to be crowned State Champion under Coach Oscar Fonseca’s leadership.
Jefferson’s Athalie Mickelson missed the podium by one win in the Girls State Championships, while Jefferson’s unified wrestlers Larry Helmuth took 2nd and John Vigil took 1st. Jefferson’s Joseph Salazar took 5th in the 126 lb division.
