About Edgewater Pride
In 2020 at the peak of the Pandemic and uncertainty, the Edgewater Pride Parade was formed by a group of neighbors who joined together in a “social distancing happy hour” where they decided that it is time for their small town to join in on the celebration of Pride. It originally was intended to be a small event, but after a massive amount of positive acceptance from not only Edgewater but all surrounding communities of Wheat Ridge, Lakewood, Denver, and across JeffCo the event continues to grow.
The Edgewater Pride Parade is founded on inclusivity, love, and resilience that is an annual celebration for all. The true importance of the parade is for everyone to feel safely visible and to come together with fellow queer/LGBTQIA+ community members and allies. Our grassroots parade is a symbol of hope to remind us that it does get better and that there’s a community here. So, in a small act of bravery, we stand proudly for those that cannot yet stand for themselves. Edgewater Pride is a joyous celebration. It is a call for liberation and dignity, where every single person in our community can feel affirmed, included, and respected. We welcome family, friends, participants, and spectators of all genders, orientations, races, abilities, and religions to come celebrate and stand for our community.
