Everest Summiter James Lumberg to Speak at Edgewater Schools

James Lumberg on the top of Mount Everest (from www.jameslumberg.com)

Jefferson alum James Lumberg gained a following among Edgewater residents last spring as he successfully summited Mount Everest and journaled online about the journey. Next week he will be returning to two of the local schools he attended as a child to share about his travels with local students. Lumberg will speak on Tuesday morning, April 25 at Lumberg Elementary School and then at Jefferson Junior/Senior High School that afternoon from 2:30-3:30 pm.

Community members and Jefferson alumni are welcome to attend the afternoon presentation at Jefferson (2305 Pierce Street).

The Lumberg family is one of the historic Edgewater families. Lumberg Elementary School is named after James’ great-grandfather Harry H. Lumberg. Harry came to Colorado from Denmark in 1886 at age 14. He moved to Edgewater in 1906.
