Dirt is starting to move at the Edgewater Civic Center site

From the City of Edgewater:

Public Works / Streets / Utilities

Tree Branch Drop-Off: Due to the recent snow storm, the City of Edgewater will be providing a drop-off location for tree branches. On Saturday October 28th from 9am to 1pm the City of Edgewater will take tree branches at 5990 W. 20th Ave. Branches will be ground into mulch and mulch will be made available to residents at a later date. Unfortunately, we are not able to accept bags of leaves at this location. There will be a separate leaf pick-up in November for bagged leaves.

Special Item Pick-Up: All residents that utilize the City of Edgewater contracted trash service are given two (2) large pick-ups each calendar year. For a complete list of what can be taken in this service, please visit http://www.edgewaterco.com. (Under Service/ Programs tab, City Services, Trash & Recycling) If you are unable to make the drop off for branches this service could be utilized.

Leaf Pick-Up: Republic Services will be providing the leaf pick-up on Thursday, November 9th, 16th & 30th. Customers that have the City sponsored trash service can leave bags of leaves next to their Republic trash carts on the above mentioned dates for pick-up.

Parks and Recreation

Halloween Festival: Trick or Treat Street: The City of Edgewater in conjunction with Jefferson High School will be hosting the Halloween Festival along with a Trick or Treat Street at Jefferson High School. This event will host a variety of carnival games and a costume contest. Bring the whole family to enjoy this great community event. Saturday, October 28th from 12pm – 2pm at Jefferson High School (2305 Pierce St.).

Civic Center

Utility Work: Utility site work has started at the site for the Edgewater Civic Center. A sewer line and new water lines will be completed by early next week ahead of the grading and dirt work. We expect that within the next two weeks construction fencing as well as ground work will be initiated.

Construction Camera: The City of Edgewater will be installing a construction camera at the site so progress can be watched by all. This camera will take still photos every ten minutes and upload them to a site for viewing. Viewers will be able to see a full-time lapse of the construction as well as see the current state of the building. The camera will be in place within the next two weeks. Please check our web site (www.edgewaterco.com) for links and any updates on the camera.
