In Edgewater we have a number of seniors who struggle to shovel their driveways during snow storms like this weekend. The City of Edgewater, Senior Connections and Edgewater Collective are partnering to create a network of volunteers who will shovel sidewalks of their senior neighbors.
Through the hard work of Pauline York, the City has compiled a list of seniors that need some assistance. Seniors that need this assistance must be qualified through Senior Connections.
If you are interested in volunteering to shovel snow, please contact Edgewater Community Services Director Dan Maples at 720-763-3012 or dmaples@edgewaterco.com.
Contact Joel Newton with Edgewater Collective if you would like to help organize a network of block captains to assist seniors, organize block parties and connect neighbors.
Joel has been a resident of Edgewater, Colorado with his family since 2012. He is the Executive Director of local education nonprofit Edgewater Collective and Editor of the Edgewater Echo.
