The 2014-2015 school year might still be a month away, but Jeffco principals are headed back to work. This upcoming year brings two new principals to Edgewater schools.
Michael James, Jefferson High School
- Former assistant principal at Jefferson High School
- 22 years of experience with high school students
- Speaks Spanish and French
- Enjoys hiking, camping and spending time with his family
Rhonda Hatch-Rivera, Lumberg Elementary School
- Most recently served for two years on the district instructional team
- Served as principal at Hackberry Hill Elementary and Martensen Elementary
- Also served as assistant principal at Edgewater Elementary
- Enjoys connecting with the community and working in a diverse school
Martha Gustafson left Jefferson to become the principal at Collegiate Preparatory Academy in Denver and Rita Throckmorton left Lumberg to become the principal at Warder Elementary School in Arvada.
Joel has been a resident of Edgewater, Colorado with his family since 2012. He is the Executive Director of local education nonprofit Edgewater Collective and Editor of the Edgewater Echo.
