Augustine Classical Academy (ACA) is pleased to announce that it is expanding its current preschool program (held at the Vietnamese Central Baptist Church at 6400 W. 26th Avenue) by offering a kindergarten class in the 2016-17 academic year. The new kindergarten program will accommodate up to 12 students and follows ACA’s well-established kindergarten program at the school’s main Lakewood campus.
As a classical, Christian school, ACA approaches education as a means to equip students to become lifelong learners by using teaching methods that align best with students’ developmental stages–an approach that makes learning satisfying and fun. In kindergarten, our students develop new skills and knowledge and have ample opportunities to practice these new discoveries with tools that are especially geared to helping young brains develop: song, chants, movement, dance, and sensory learning. Our phonics program gives students the skills they need to develop sound reading, writing, and spelling skills, and our math curriculum introduces foundational principles through use of manipulatives and problem-solving games. Students learn science through the physical world, art through the study of famous artists, and music through exposure to songs, instruments, and movement.
ACA is hosting an open house for any interested families at its Lakewood campus 480 S. Kipling St., 80226) on Tuesday, January 19 from 8:45-11 AM. For more information or to request an enrollment application, please contact info@augustineclassical.org. Financial aid is available for students in kindergarten and up.
