After a year of conversations with the City of Edgewater and working through the details, Gold Crown Foundation started demolition and construction work inside the Heritage Center at 2501 Chase Street this week. Gold Crown will be leasing the space from the City of Edgewater.
Gold Crown hopes to use the space for their excellent afterschool enrichment programming for children and teenagers. Gold Crown Enrichment currently operates at 150 South Harlan Street in Lakewood and this location in Edgewater would be their second space. Gold Crown Enrichment offers daytime art and technology classes for Jefferson County Schools students and an after school Clubhouse for students 10-18 years old.
According to their website, the Clubhouse is focused on “teaching technology through exploration, creativity and self-expression. It is a drop-in program focused on interested-based learning, so members can come by after school and stay as long as they’d like to work on creative projects, tinker with technology, learn something new or hang out with mentors and make!”
Stay tuned for more details on when Gold Crown hopes to open here in Edgewater.
