Edgewater City Weekly: February 24, 2018

From the City of Edgewater:

Public Works and Utilities

Meter Reading: With the snow this week we are reading meters again next week. You may see meter readers out on your property next week reading water meters. Please make sure the readers have a clear path to the meter reading unit.

Code Enforcement

Snow and Ice Removal: With the current weather, we would like to remind all residents of their duty to keep sidewalks adjacent to any lot or parcel free and clear of snow and ice. Keeping sidewalks clear not only provides safe access to your property, but also contributes to the safety of the neighborhood. Residents failing to maintain a clear sidewalk will be warned and following a single warning will be cited under section 11-2-40 of the Edgewater municipal Code.

Public Works

Designated Snow Routes: We all enjoy safe and snow cleared roadways.  In order to maintain wide plowed snow routes, we ask that vehicles park along Streets, rather than Avenues.  Help our plow drivers keep you safe!

Parks and Recreation

Youth Basketball: Youth Basketball registration is now up and running and will end March 2nd.  Please register at www.playedgewater.com We will have a 5-6 year old age group, 7-9 year old age group and a 10-12 year old age group. Registration ends February 25th.

Adult Men’s and Co-ed Softball: Registration is underway.  Each softball season is set for an 8-week season of league play followed by a single elimination tournament.  The 2018 softball season will start the second week in April.  $525 per team, 20 players per team on the roster.  Registration ends April 1st.

Civic Center

Construction Update: Alliance Construction continues to keep the construction on schedule even through the last few snow storms. If you have not been by the location, you may want to drive by. The retaining wall on the north and east side is complete. Most of the building footings and the basement walls and first floor steel are in place. We are optimistic that the steel for the remander of the building will be delivered in two weeks, so the building will be going vertical very soon. If you can’t make it out there, take a look at the drone fly over on the city web site (www.edgewaterco.com).
