Retired Edgewater Police Officer Ted Cooper Passes Away

Retired Edgewater Police Officer Ted Cooper

From Edgewater Police Chief John Mackey:

Ted Cooper, a longtime Edgewater Police officer passed away Wednesday, April 4th at 81 years old, with his wife Candy and family by his side.

As a young Lakewood officer in the early 80’s Ted assisted me on several calls. I have fond memories of Ted backing me up on calls in Lakewood and I doing the same for him in Edgewater. Ted was a good friend and mentor and retired from Edgewater PD in 1985 while working alongside Chief Duke Smith.

Candy will be hosting a Celebration of Life on Thursday, April 26th from 4pm – ? at the American Legion Hall, 20th and Harlan.

Candy wanted to invite our Edgewater community to stop by and say hi!

Retired Chief Duke Smith will also be attending with plenty of good stories of Ted’s career.
