From the City of Edgewater:
PARKS AND RECREATION
YOUTH SPORTS
Youth Soccer registration deadline is right around the corner. The season is set to start on September 5th, so the registration deadline is August 26th. Please register on time. With the amount of late registrations, we had last time we could have formed another team and we do not want to run into that again. We would love it if everyone could be out there playing, so make sure to sign up now at www.playedgewater.com. Youth soccer is for 5-6-year old’s, 7-9-year old’s, and 10-12-year old’s. We are not a competitive league; every player will learn the fundamentals of the sports as well as learning team play more than anything. We have players who have never touched a soccer ball, and players who have played with us for 6 years. All are encouraged to come out.
Registration Deadline: August 26th

Please bring your family and a blanket to pick your spot along the grass to enjoy the live music and shows.
PARKS
If you haven’t walked by Citizen’s Park lately please do. We are trying to get the park back into shape with a few projects.
1) Resurface the breezeway along the exterior of the softball fence
2) Add a border and sod to north side of softball field. (We ask that everyone please stay off the fence we have protecting the newly placed sod. The fence has been found knocked down a couple of times now from jumping over it with footprints in the newly placed sod.)
3) We are also shaving down parts of the sidewalk, around the pavilion area, that has popped up from tree roots and have become a tripping hazard. This will now be shaved down to where it is flush with the surrounding sidewalk.
Along with those projects we have upgraded our irrigation clock system which will allow us to do more with irrigation and run a cycle/soak program that will save us water in the long run and still allow us to water deeper into our grass to get the roots healthy. Our Citizen’s Park has had a lot of events lately and it has taken its toll, but we have good people working to get it back.
