Edgewater Civic Center Construction Update

As anyone driving by the 1800 block of Harlan St. has seen, the Edgewater Civic Center is nearing completion. By the end of next week, there should be a date for the Grand Opening in November (fingers crossed). Alliance Construction has worked very hard to keep this project moving forward and complete the center yet this year. Currently, the crews are working on final touches in the office areas on the second floor while flooring the gymnasium and painting the atrium. Please look for more information to come as this new facility looks for opening dates!

Parks and Recreation

September Walk Challenge: If you participated in the September Walk/ Run Challenge, please return your score card so we can tally up all the scorecards and award the prizes! You can return at the Municipal Building (2401 Sheridan Blvd.) or through email at dmaples@edgewaterco.com.

Code Enforcement

Trash and Recycling: As fall settles in and the weather turns cooler, it’s a good time to get rid of any trash, garbage, and junk that has accumulated over the summer months. Please take advantage of the fall drop off scheduled for this Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 20th and Depew from 9AM to 1PM. Please ensure all outgoing weekly garbage is deposited in your trash containers, covered with a lid, and not lying on the ground next to the container. This also applies to recycling. Cardboard boxes are not acceptable. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in a code violation being issued.

Vehicle Storage: Any vehicles on your property not running or not used very often should always be covered with a cover manufactured for that specific purpose. Tarps are not permitted. Otherwise a code violation may be issued.

Public Works Fall Clean-Up

Drop-off this Saturday! The drop-off date is Saturday, October 6th from 9am -1pm at 5505 W. 20th Ave. (the old King Sooper’s, entrance off of 22nd Ave and Benton St.). The drop-off location will also have paper shredding, electronic recycling and metal recycling available.
