Edgewater Redevelopment Authority Board Position: There is currently an opening on the Edgewater Redevelopment Authority Board and the Board of Adjustment. The application can be found on the City web site (www.edgewaterco.com).

Parks and Recreation

Holiday Lights Festival: TONIGHT, Friday – December 7th, from 6pm-8:30pm, we will kick off the holiday season with a festive ceremony at our new Edgewater Civic Center. This special evening will start with a dance performance from Edgewater’s own, Jackie Oxford’s dance classes followed by a visit from Santa from 6:30pm-8:30pm.

Santa at the Orum House: Saturday, December 15th, from 2pm-4pm. Santa will make a special visit to the Orum House located on 2444 Depew St. Join us for holiday fun and make sure to let Santa know what you would like for Christmas.

Santa Visits: The City of Edgewater is partnering with West Metro Fire Protection District with Santa making personal visits to homes in Edgewater on December 24th. Space is limited so please contact us to reserve a spot. Times announced following registration. 720-763-3005.

Youth Sports: Youth Sports Registration is now up and running. Youth Basketball will start at our new Civic Center starting February 13th. Age groups are 5-6, 7-9, and 10-12 years old. This league will run as an 8-week season. Practices are held on Wednesday nights and games will be on Saturdays. To register for Youth Basketball, please go to “YOUTH PROGRAMS” then “REGISTER” then “LEAGUES”.

Smart Start Basketball: We also have a Start Smart Basketball program for the 3-5 years old. Start Smart Basketball starts on March 2nd. One parent/guardian must be present for the Start Smart program. To register for Start Smart Basketball, please go to “YOUTH PROGRAMS” then “REGISTER” then “ACTIVITIES”.

Civic Center Fitness Area: Please come visit us and enjoy the new recreation facilities and open gym times! Right now, with no leagues running in our basketball court we have and will have open gym through the end of December. Drop-in rates for youth are $2 or you can get a 15-punch pass for your child for $25.50. There is also an annual rate for youth members of $100 for a Jeffco Resident and $120 for non-Jeffco Resident. Looking for that perfect Christmas present? Come by the Civic Center Recreation Desk on the second floor and purchase one of our annual passes or punch cards for someone special or the entire family! Call 720.763.3011 for more information.

Adult Fitness: The Edgewater Fitness Center will have a schedule posted in the next couple of weeks for classes starting in 2019. Sign up for an account on www.playedgewater.com for up to date information on classes.

Senior Programming: Our next trip will be Thursday, December 13th to the Denver Botanic Gardens for “Blossoms of Lights”. Cost is $7 and the bus leaves the from the front entrance of the Civic Center at 5:00 p.m. Estimated return time is 8:00 p.m.

Felica is back and will be having her next senior floral arrangement class on Friday, December 21st from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in the Large Activity room on the second floor. Participants must RSVP and pay for their spot no later than Wednesday, December 19th.

Fitness Instructors Needed: We are currently looking for Fitness Instructors to teach/offer in our new facility (i.e. – yoga, spin, barre, etc.) For more information, please call the Recreation Desk at 720.763.3011.
