September 3 City Council Recap: New City Manager and Sustainability Plan Adopted

 

The Edgewater City Council met on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 for a regularly scheduled Business Meeting and Work Session. Here’s a brief look at the decisions made by Council:

Dan Maples Becomes New Edgewater City Manager

City Council voted to approve the hiring of Dan Maples as the new Edgewater City Manager. Dan has worked in different roles within the City of Edgewater beginning as the Community Services Director and then becoming the Deputy City Manager. He was the Acting City Manager upon the retirement of City Manager HJ Stalf.

Edgewater Sustainability Plan Adopted

Edgewater City Council also voted to adopt the 2019 Edgewater Sustainability Plan which was drafted by a special committee. City Council and community members will now be working on next steps which include forming an Edgewater Sustainability Board.
