The following statement was read at the last Edgewater City Council meeting on Tuesday, August 6:

HJ Stalf had informed City Council in July of his decision to retire from his position of City Manager with the City of Edgewater.  The City had been planning for his departure with the goal of a smooth transition of leadership. Both Mr. Stalf and City Council felt that the time for that transition should occur sooner than later and set the retirement date as August 9th, 2019. Mr. Stalf will be missed by Council, staff and the community as he led Edgewater through the past ten years.

Deputy City Manager Dan Maples is now currently in the role of Acting City Manager.
